Lovely

Since we are on the topic, I must say that I was very disappointed, way back, when many in the black community/church-- and especially Jesse Jackson-- came out against gay marriage and were offended that some were calling it an issue of civil rights and even comparing it to the movement of the 60's. I mean, yes, historically, black people have been treated the worst of any group within this country and are still largely disenfranchised. I think that no one would deny that. The black civil rights movement was huge-- in it's scope and in the doors that it opened... it continues to inspire me... but this isn't something that should be measured in degree, should it? Shouldn't it be measured by the fact that a group is being discriminated against... period... no matter the degree?
